The story takes place in the 16th century, in a time when Japan was in the midst of a civil war. The protagonist, a member of the Shinobi clan, lost his arm in battle. To make up for his lost arm, he has his master, and the game begins with him trying to find his way to his leader, in order to avenge his clan and to save his master from the hands of his enemies.
The game is filled with action, as the player has to fight multiple enemies. The main character, Sekiro, is a member of the Shinobi clan, and the player can control him with the help of the game environment. The game is also filled with exciting puzzles, and the solution to each puzzle is not easy to find.
